Shatta Wale’s New Team: To Rebuild and Manage Brand | ghreloaded.com
Dancehall King Shatta Wale has taken the boldest steps yet in a determined effort to rebuild his ‘battered’ image and dump his perceived ‘bad boy’ personality.
Months after parting ways with his manager, Bulldog, Shatta Wale — real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah — is set to name a team of top notch professionals to manage his image both on and off the stage as well as build his brand as a quest to mend his old ways which has courted a lot of controversy and trouble for the Korle Gonno music icon.
An insider revealed to (Graphic Showbiz ) that following broad consultations with all parties involved, Shatta was ready to unveil his new management which comprise personalities with a wealth of experience behind them.
According to the source, the core team will be made up of *Julio Cyriaano Olympio*, a Marketing and Events professional who would serve as his Personal and Business Manager.
“Also in the team is *Chris Koney*, a Corporate Communications Executive who previously worked with Vodafone Ghana, Charterhouse Productions, MultiChoice Ghana (DStv) and served as the Awards Administrator for the recently held GN Bank Awards.
“He would be in charge of Public Relations and play the important role of managing the artist’s image and relations with the media,” the source added.
The role of a Road Manager will be taken up by *William Tekyi Micah*. He will be strategic in liaising with event organisers and promoters before, during and after Shatta Wale’s performances at events in and out of Ghana.
*Dodzi Kobla Senaya* will be Shatta Wale’s Personal Assistant and will be in charge of organising and coordinating his daily schedules.
Both *Dodzi and William* have been part of the Shatta Movement from its inception and together with other members such as *Cecil Cofie (Blade)* and *Yussif Alhassan Iddriss* ( Ras Deporti ) have contributed to the growth and success of the movement.
The source added “there is an external team made up of some very influential people including Shatta Wale’s father, *Nii Armah Mensah Snr*, who has been hugely involved in the financial management of the Shatta Movement”.
Even before the team officially commences work, there is evidence of a rebranding process to strategically position Shatta Wale and such subtle moves have already received positive feedback from stakeholders within the Ghanaian arts and entertainment space, as well as the corporate world.
In spite of an ongoing legal case with Charterhouse, organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Shatta Wale has submitted entries for consideration for the 2015 awards scheme. It is a huge turnaround for the hit maker, having previously derided the awards and asked not to be nominated for future VGMA.
Recently, he openly apologised to Samini having previously engaged in numerous public spats with the multiple award-winning artiste whom many consider to be one of Shatta’s biggest dancehall rivals.
