Shatta Wale to Rescue Underground Artistes
If a research is to be conducted to find out how many musicians stay underground for a long time, the figures would get you surprised. There is a huge gap between the number of underground musicians and the number of musicians who make it to the mainstream music scene. In this regard, it comes off as refreshing news whenever someone decides to help any underground artiste.
Even though Shatta Wale is yet to know his fate so far as this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) is concerned, the Dancehall artiste is still determined to ensure that underground artistes in the country become mainstream artistes on the music scene and have a taste of success.
Speaking to Flex Newspaper in an exclusive interview, Shatta Wale revealed that he would soon release a medley on a new riddim called the Mad Yard Riddim featuring some underground Dancehall artistes. He noted that this move is to ensure that underground artistes get the needed push and support in the music industry and mentioned that artistes such as Captan, Arab, Addi Self, Shiney Bwoy and others would feature on the medley.
Shatta Wale, who would also feature on the medley, disclosed that apart from recording the medley, he would promote them and ensure that they get some shows to perform at adding that he would also shoot a music video for the medley.
